Tin Roof and Chinese Rail

A Chinese rail tops the tin roof at Poplar Forest. The reconstruction of the railing was based on documentary evidence. Enslaved joiner John Hemmings wrote a letter to his master Thomas Jefferson in which he mentioned a Chinese rail on the roof.
