Selling Newly Arrived Africans

An announcement placed in the October 15, 1772, edition of the Virginia Gazette advertises the sale of about "FOUR HUNDRED fine healthy SLAVES" by the slave traders John Wayles and Richard Randolph. The sale of the newly arrived Africans was held at Bermuda Hundred; it began on October 8 and was to continue until all the enslaved were sold.
