Van Lew House

A young boy with a donkey and cart stands in front of the Van Lew family house at 2300 East Grace Street, on Church Hill in Richmond. Built in 1801 by Dr. John Adams, the house was sold to John Van Lew in 1836. Van Lew's daughter Elizabeth ran a network of Union spies during the Civil War.
