Bark-covered House at Jamestown

This reconstruction of an early Virginia Indian bark-covered house is located at Jamestown Settlement, a living-history site operated near the original Jamestown site by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. Inside a house such as this, sleeping benches lined the walls and dried meat and fish were often stored on horizontal poles overhead.
