Thomas Mann Randolph, planter, politician, governor of Virginia (1819–1822), and a son-in-law of Thomas Jefferson, is the subject of this oval portrait. The original painting, the only known image of Thomas Mann Randolph, was unsigned and undated. This twentieth century copy was painted by Edmund P. Archer and is part of the Commonwealth of Virginia's art collection.
