Demonstrator Carried from Church Steps in Farmville

An African American woman is forcibly carried off the steps of Farmville Baptist Church by the police on July 28, 1963. She and other demonstrators, who had been refused admittance to an all-white service, sat praying and singing on the church steps. Twenty-three protesters were arrested for disturbing public worship.
