The Battle of Malvern Hill

This Currier and Ives lithograph remembers the Battle of Malvern Hill (1862) during the Civil War. The battle was characterized by repeated and failed Confederate assaults on the Union position on top of Malvern Hill, and by overwhelming Confederate casualties with little strategic gain in return.
