Fredericksburg 1776 Musket
This American musket was restocked sometime around 1790 with a variety of different parts, including a curly maple stock, iron mounts from a possibly Dutch musket from around 1690 to 1710, and a lockplate engraved “FREDG 1776.” The lockplate, while most likely separated from its original musket, was crafted in Fredericksburg. The Fredericksburg Gun Manufactory repaired and manufactured weaponry for the American Revolution, and supplied arms to many Virginia regiments.
