Declaration of Independence Broadside

Philadelphia printer John Dunlap went to work typesetting and printing around 200 copies of the Declaration of Independence on the night of July 4, 1776, and into the early morning of the next day. This copy of the Dunlap broadside is in the collections of Yale University in the Beineke Rare Book & Manuscript Library. While the engrossed, handwritten Declaration of Independence is the most familiar to modern Americans, this broadside would have been the version seen by most people of the time period.
