Save the products of the Land

Fish swim amid seaweed in this poster produced during World War I by the United States Food Administration. This lithograph was part of an advertising campaign that urged American civilians to conserve foods for the American forces fighting overseas. The federal agency recommended that, as an act of patriotism, those on the homefront should avoid eating "products of the land," such as beef, poultry, pork, or wheat.
