Corn: The Food of the Nation

A poster produced by the United States Food Administration during World War I urges women to use corn in "every meal," as an "appetizing, nourishing, [and] economical" food source. The federal agency encouraged civilians on the homefront to eat corn rather than meat and wheat, both of which were needed to feed the troops fighting abroad.
