Colonial-Era Gown

This colonial-era cream silk gown features a brocaded pattern of tulips, flower sprigs, and leaves. Sewn with English fabric circa 1750, and altered in or about 1775, this dress was worn in colonial Richmond by a member of the Blair or Harvie family. The waist of the gown measures approximately twenty-four-and-one-half inches.
