Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) in Fredericksburg

In February 1925, members of the Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) stand in front of their brick church on Sophia Street in Fredericksburg. Reverend B. H. Hester, the pastor then serving, stands at center with his arms folded. This photograph was taken by the Browns photo studio, a black family-run business in Richmond that recorded African American life for seventy years.
