Nurses at Base Hospital / Non-Commissioned Officers of Base Hospital Hospital

Two group portraits show the nurses and the non-commissioned officers who worked at the base hospital at Camp Lee, a large U.S. Army base near Petersburg that housed about 50,000 soldiers during World War I. This image was published in The Bayonet Remembrance Book of Camp Lee Virginia (1918), a small book of photographs chronicling camp life that was created by Roger Batchelder, who was at officer training school there.
