The Bayonet Remembrance Book of Camp Lee Virginia
This is the cover of The Bayonet Remembrance Book of Camp Lee Virginia (1918), a small book of photographs chronicling life in Camp Lee, a large army camp near Petersburg with about 50,000 troops during World War I. The author and photographer was Roger Batchelder, Harvard class of 1918, who was then a candidate in officer training school at the camp. The cover is illustrated with a view of the camp at upper left, and a German helmet being pierced by a dagger at lower right.
