Maker’s Mark on Hunting Horn

George Henry Rodenbostel of London put his maker's mark on the exterior of the bell of this late-eighteenth-century horn. Used during autumn and winter foxhunts, this finely crafted brass-and-silver horn is in the collections at George Washington's Fairfax County plantation, Mount Vernon. Washington was an avid foxhunter.
