Monument to Confederate President Jefferson Davis

This monument to Jefferson Davis marks the spot in Irwin County, Georgia, where the Confederate president was captured by Union forces on May 10, 1865. The Ocilla, Georgia, chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy commissioned this monument and dedicated it on June 3, 1936. The statue is located in a state park known alternately as the Jefferson Davis Memorial Historic Site and the Jefferson Davis Capture Site.
