President Woodrow in France in 1919

President Woodrow Wilson greets American and French soldiers at the railroad station at Château-Thierry in France on February 8, 1919. The war between the Allied forces and Germany had ended on November 11, 1918, and Wilson was in France representing the United States at the Paris Peace Conference. Wilson was the first U.S. president to travel to Europe while in office. This image was published in Edith Bolling Galt Wilson's My Memoir (1936).
