Civil Rights Act of 1964

On July 2, 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signs the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a landmark piece of legislation that outlawed discrimination in public accommodations and employment. Standing directly behind the president is the civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
