Farmville Teenagers

Unidentified African American students from Farmville clap during a public event. This image is part of the 1963 Civil Rights Protests Collection of photographs at the James Branch Cabell Library at Virginia Commonwealth University. Local teenagers from Farmville took part in a series of civil rights demonstrations that lasted from July 1963 until mid-September, when Free Schools were organized for black students.
