Advertisement for Runaway Oney Judge

An advertisement published in the May 24, 1796, edition of the Philadelphia Gazette and Universal Daily Advertiser offers a bounty of $10 or more (depending on the distance from the city) for the capture of Oney Judge, an enslaved woman who tended to the personal needs of Martha Washington. Judge had escaped from the President's House in Philadelphia.
