Col. Burwell Bassett

Burwell Bassett (1734–1793), a member of the House of Burgesses (1762–1774) and of the Revolutionary Conventions in Virginia in 1775, 1776, and 1778, is the subject of this carte-de-visite photograph of an earlier miniature portrait made in 1793 by an unknown artist. Bassett was married to Anna Maria Dandridge, a sister of Martha Washington.
