Constitution of the Union Burial Ground Society.

This constitution sets out the rules of the Union Burial Ground Society, an organization established in 1848 by twenty-three free blacks from Richmond for the purpose of establishing a burial ground for African Americans. Any free black could buy a section in the cemetery for $10 "with a right to inter any person he may think proper."
