Remains from the Richmond Theatre Fire

This brass pocket watch made by Chater & Livermore in London was damaged in the Richmond Theatre fire of 1811. (Note the charring along the bottom edge of the watch.) This scorched artifact was used to identify the body of Maria Nelson, who died in the fire.
