Bottom Half of George Washington’s Dentures

This is the bottom row of a set of dentures worn by George Washington. Contrary to the popular myth that Washington had false wooden teeth, the dentures he wore were made out of animal and human teeth—from elephant and walrus ivory as well as from teeth purchased from his enslaved laborers.
