Barborsville Ruins

These are the ruins of Barboursville, the neo-Palladian plantation house in Orange County that was designed by Thomas Jefferson for his friend James Barbour. Completed about 1822, the house was destroyed in a fire on December 25, 1884. The ruins, open for tourists to view, are on property owned by Barboursville Vineyards.
