Quartz Crystal

This piece of quartz crystal was recovered in an archaeological dig in the southwest duplex at Montpelier, the Orange County plantation owned by James and Dolley Madison. It is believed that this crystal was used in some ritual context by the enslaved workers owned by the Madison family.
