Miniature Portrait of Thomas Law

Thomas Law, the subject of this miniature watercolor portrait, was a prominent Englishman who made a fortune in India, moved to the United States in 1794, and married Elizabeth Parke Custis two years later. The reverse side of the image contains a woven plat of Law's hair.
