Silhouette of Jack Jouett

This is a copy of the silhouette profile bust of Jack Jouett—the only known likeness of him—that was made by his artist son, Matthew Harris Jouett, early in the nineteenth century. In 1781, Jack Jouett rode from Louisa County to Charlottesville to warn state officials of the approaching British Army.
