Eudora Ramsay Richardson

Eudora Ramsay Richardson is the subject of this photograph, which was published around 1958 in a handbill that advertised Richardson as a speaker for a reunion being held at the Fork Shoals Baptist Church in Greenville County, South Carolina. This handbill is among Richardson's papers at the University of Virginia.

In 1937 Richardson became director of the Virginia Writers' Project, which was part of the Works Progess Administration. The Virginia Writers' Project produced two important books, Virginia: A Guide to the Old Dominion (1940) and The Negro in Virginia (1940).
