William H. Cabell
William H. Cabell, governor of Virginia and then judge of the Virginia Court of Appeals, is the subject of this portrait. The image itself—a drawing or lithograph—was probably made during Cabell's lifetime. This photograph of the original image is in a cabinet card format, a photographic style popular late in the nineteenth century.
