H. R. Fitzgerald

H. R. Fitzgerald, the president of the Dan River Mills from 1918 until his death in 1931, is the subject of this photographic portrait published in History of Virginia, volume 6 (1924). Beneath the image is a facsimile of Fitzgerald's signature. The History of Virginia encompassed six volumes and was coauthored by Philip Alexander Bruce, Lyon Gardiner Tyler, and Richard L. Morton.
