Carter Glass and William G. McAdoo
William G. McAdoo, a leader of the Progressive movement, towers over the diminutive Carter Glass in a photograph taken early in the twentieth century. McAdoo, a son-in law of President Woodrow Wilson, served under him as Secretary of the Treasury from 1913 until 1918, when Glass succeeded him.
