William Strachey’s Signet Ring

William Strachey's brass signet ring bears the engraving of an eagle, the Strachey family symbol dating back to the coat of arms issued to his father in 1587. This artifact was uncovered during 1996 archaeological excavations at the site of the first Jamestown settlement.
