Letter from Amos A. Dodson to William Mahone
In this letter dated July 31, 1883, Amos A. Dodson asks William Mahone, leader of the Readjuster Party, if he may keep his position as a railroad mail clerk if he is nominated and elected to the House of Delegates that year. Dodson won the election, and after serving his term he was appointed as deputy collector with the Internal Revenue service.
