The Carter Family

A photograph of A. P. Carter; his wife, Sara Carter; and his sister-in-law, Maybelle Carter—the original members of the Carter Family—is featured on the cover of this collection of sheet music for fifty songs that had been written and performed by the "World Famous Recording Artists" from southwestern Virginia. This folio was produced in 1937 by the Southern Music Publishing Company in New York City, and included song chords for the ukelele, guitar, and banjo.
